Housed in a reclaimed 1900s industrial notebook factory, SPAF is a Saugerties wedding venue that blends timeless character with modern charm. The idea behind this venue is to incorporate the energy of the city into the venue itself, providing a memorable backdrop for weddings and events.
Famous for its iconic “composition” notebooks with the mottled black and white covers, along with stationery and paper products, the former F.L. Russell Corporation opened its doors on this site in 1936 and remained proprietors of the property until the early 1960s. A historic setting, couples can add their own chapter to the property’s long and storied history.
Today, the 14,000 square-foot open floor plan boasts soaring ceilings that reach 28 feet, laced together with steel girders and skylights that allow natural light to flow into the property. Able to accommodate up to 250 seated guests, moveable walls and floor-to-ceiling curtains can section off the space depending on the event, presenting you with a versatile space for your celebration. Its exposed brick walls, large warehouse-style windows and original hard wood floors all add to this venue’s industrial feel. Modern additions and restorations add a contemporary chic touch to this venue, also adding to the possibilities of how you can decorate for your long-awaited occasion. Given its dynamic, minimalist design, the event space can be customized to suit your stylistic vision.
The stunning building is surrounded by lush private gardens, creating a beautiful oasis in the village of Saugerties. SPAF offers numerous outdoor and indoor ceremony locations as an industrial wedding venue in the Hudson Valley. Guests can enjoy your ceremony and mingle along the lush, manicured grass or wander over to the outdoor patio (approx. 2,000 square foot in size). Flourishing trees, flowers and gardens surround the area to create a tranquil backdrop for any couple’s ceremony. For indoor receptions, the space can accommodate up to 250 guests inside the classic, sophisticated setting. Vintage chandeliers and large windows are present throughout the room for a bright and airy atmosphere.
There is a bridal suite available for the party to use as a get-ready space, or simply to take a moment’s pause from the event.
